NEW YORK -
Ori, the forward-thinking company providing multifunctional smart space solutions, today announced the launch of Cloud Bed, Table Edition. The new design is now available for multifamily and condominium projects in the North American market. Designed and engineered in the U.S., Ori’s Cloud Bed, Table Edition optimizes residential square footage by creating two spaces – a bedroom on the one hand, and a dining area, home office, or game room on the other hand – all within the footprint of one space.
“Now more than ever we need our living spaces to better accommodate our many needs for working, sleeping and living. Ori’s new Cloud Bed, Table Edition makes the limited square feet of our spaces more usable and flexible – more livable,” said Hasier Larrea, founder and CEO of Ori. “Adding the Cloud Bed, Table Edition to the Ori collection means developers have one more solution that can turn even the smallest apartment into a flexible and versatile space that adapts on demand to the needs of its residents.”
As with Ori’s successful Cloud Bed, Sofa Edition, with the touch of a button, this new member of the Cloud Bed family utilizes underused ceiling space to accommodate a queen or king bed that descends for rest, relaxation and sleep, and, unique to the Table Edition, when the bed returns to the ceiling, a spacious table ascends to desk or dining height as part of a modern, versatile sitting area.
Ori’s newest product will debut in Austin, Texas as part of a mixed-use development anchored by a new Thompson Hotel with multiple food and beverage outlets. The four-way partnership of BLG Capital Advisors, Geolo Capital, Magellan Development Group, and Wanxiang Americas Real Estate Group broke ground on a full block parcel at East 5th and Brazos Streets in 2018. Residents of The Sienna, found atop the 31-story hi-rise, will begin moving in later this summer where they’ll find Ori living solutions, including Cloud Bed, Table Edition in a select collection of well-appointed apartments. Cloud Bed, Table Edition is currently available for viewing at Ori’s Design Studio in Brooklyn, New York.
”We’ve been big believers in Ori’s design and product philosophy for some time,” said Brad Nichols, Principal at San Francisco-based Geolo Capital. “We first invested in Ori back in 2019 and continue to be impressed by the platform’s evolution and their ability to deliver solutions developers and tenants mutually need. On behalf of our partners, we couldn’t be more excited to showcase Ori’s newest product in one of the most dynamic, new apartment communities in Texas.”
The Cloud Bed, Table Edition, can be retrofitted into existing building layouts, or, to achieve ideal implementations, incorporated during the design process in collaboration with development teams. The new Cloud Bed edition requires a minimum 8’6’’ ceiling height and, like all Ori products, is UL certified with built-in safety features that include constant monitoring of the motors, obstacle protection and a manual power-loss mode.
“We’re not just designing objects for homes, we’re creating a new way of living – one that includes more flexibility and better options for how we use our space,” said Reed Finlay, VP Design at Ori. “Whether you’re a developer looking to make studio units more desirable or to expand the functionality of one-bedrooms, or a prospective tenant simply looking for a space that meets all your day-to-day needs, the Cloud Bed, Table Edition represents another step towards creating a better, brighter future for modern living.”
Ori’s smart space solutions enable developers to build better-performing, more sustainable and more affordable products for their residents while at the same time enable residents to experience a better quality of life in their homes. The Cloud Bed, Table Edition joins Ori’s innovative collection, which includes the award-winning Studio Suite (an all-in-one modular furniture solution that turns a studio unit into multi-room experience); the 2020 Architizer A+ Award-winning Pocket Closet, (a transformable walk-in closet on-demand that also provides an entertainment center, home office and additional storage to any residential unit); and the Pocket Office (an entertainment center and shelving unit that expands to reveal a full office space with sitting and standing desks, additional shelving and storage).
Ori units are currently featured in more than 30 buildings and 15 cities across the United States. See where Ori units are located and where they are going here.
